Research Associate and Senior Research Associate - Biology
The Research Associate and Senior Research Associate will work within the Biology R&D organization to support the development of photosynthetic microorganisms for the production of Joule's next-generation renewable fuels. Areas of research will include the development of genetic systems for the construction and optimization of novel microorganisms, the design and implementation of strategies for the efficient production of renewable fuels, and validation of strain construction approaches through the use of small-scale reactors.
Responsibilities
• Design and implement experimental plans
• Document experimental methods and results in laboratory notebooks
• Summarize results and prepare technical reports
• Participate in group and project meetings
• Read scientific literature and apply the knowledge gained to develop new ideas and strategies
Qualifications
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in the Life Sciences (Microbiology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology) is required. Prior industry experience (one to two years) is a plus for the Research Associate. Three to five years of industrial experience, or equivalent academic research, is required for the Senior Research Associate. Candidates must possess a strong work ethic, solid organizational and communication skills, and enjoy working in a team environment.
